Information Technology
Cessna’s career opportunities in MIS and IT are as diverse as the aircraft we build. We rely heavily on a strong Project Management focus, utilizing these skills to plan and measure our work and resources. Full-time, entry-level positions are available, as well as summer internships. Areas housed within MIS include Business Integration/Application, IT Architecture, Infrastructure, IT Security and Risk Management
- Business Integration works closely with Cessna functional departments to understand the business drivers and to create and deliver application-related projects and programs. This function also determines what applications are to be created and what tools and technologies to use in support of customers’ objectives. This team directly supports internal customers in Engineering, Finance, Customer Service, Marketing and Supply Chain, to name a few.
- The IT Architecture group monitors how Cessna manages data and makes technical decisions about the software utilized and supported at Cessna. In this manner, we ensure that each type of software we use fits into our overall strategy and streamlines our technology options. In addition, this group is responsible for the data warehouse that stores, manipulates and manages all of Cessna’s technological data.
- Our Infrastructure team works closely with our supplier-partner Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) to ensure that a consistent, satisfactory service is delivered to Cessna’s employees. This group has constant interaction with both internal customers and CSC to monitor and mitigate any potential performance issues.
- The IT Security team works to ensure that data, applications, hardware and network systems are secure. IT Security also proactively mitigates risk and the potential for incidents or disasters.
